It is also an ideal gateway to adventure travel in Belize. The resort features an ocean front colonial lodge, with three pools and an excellent beach.

More about the Fly Fishing

El Pescador is the oldest and most established fly fishing destination in Belize. Since 1974, anglers from around the world have come to fish our prolific saltwater flats for bonefish, permit, tarpon. We have 20 guides and cater to the beginning, intermediate, and advanced saltwater flats enthusiast. We offer more choices and activities than any other fishing resort in Belize.

Bonefish- The bonefish grounds are only minutes from the lodge. Fish from the boat or wade. The bonefish run from 2-5 lbs, are plentiful, and eager to take a fly.

Permit- The Permit are found on the bonefish flats, and on many of the tarpon flats as well. Our permit are found in large schools and range from 4-30lbs, with the majority running 8-10lbs.

Tarpon- The El Pescador fishery has year-round resident tarpon over 100lbs. The fish are spread out over our 250 square mile fishery.

Many other species will take a fly, including: Jacks, Snook and barracuda.

What People Say About El Pescador

"I have had the good fortune to travel all over the world to fish and hunt and have never experienced better hospitality or a place as well run as El Pescador. The staff was helpful, friendly, and polite. The room, food and drinks were excellent. El Pescador is an understated, delightful environment. It is unique in that there are so many activities besides fishing. Everything is low key…just there for the asking."

Gar J.

"Belize offers the fly fisherman an exciting variety of opportunities for flats species and El Pescador has been a great host/lodge for decades. They know how to serve fly fisherman. Belize is easy to get to and best of all everyone speaks English."

Lefty Kreh

"A dream vacation for any angler. From the fishing and guides, to the resort staff, the food, the accommodations, the scenery and the vacation massage, it simple cannot be beat. We were there for just over 2 weeks and could have just stayed forever!
