OPTIONAL PRE-CONFERENCE GLOBAL HEALTH & HUMANITARIAN MEDICINE SYMPOSIUM

Humanitarian Medicine and Global Health overlap and complement Wilderness Medicine. Both often involve rendering health care in remote or austere environments with minimal equipment and supplies. The symposium will focus on ways to improve the effectiveness of humanitarian strategies for relief, protection and prevention. Learn more about the symposium.

Advanced Wilderness & Expedition Provider (AWEP Certification®) Course

A comprehensive course leading to AWEP Certification® that is designed to prepare physicians and other health care providers with an extensive background in key topics and practical skills needed to become a competent expedition, wilderness, or Search and Rescue Medical Provider. OPTIONAL WORKSHOPS

The conference has unique optional hands-on workshops on topics ranging from outdoor survival skills to practical wilderness medical skills. Workshops feature small interactive groups with outstanding instructors. Learn more about our useful hands-on workshops.

Accreditation

The Center for Emergency Medical Education (CEME) designates this live activity for a maximum of 36.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. This activity also offers AOA Category 2-A CME credit and AAFP/ACEP credit.

The American Association of Physician Assistants accepts Category 1 CME from organizations accredited by the ACCME. This course is also accredited for up to 36.25 hours of nursing credit.
