Urban Survival Workshop

Thursday, March 14, 1:15 - 5:00 pm. $75

A detailed and practical session on survival skills for the urban environment. Topics include: being taken hostage, protecting your family, surviving aircraft crashes and earthquakes, and equipment used for disaster management. Faculty: Brian Horner

Splinting Workshop

Ropes & Knots For Wilderness Medicine & Rescue

Thursday, March 14, and Friday, March 15, 1:00 - 2:30 pm. $35

This workshop will teach you how to use ropes and tie knots for high angle rescue, swift water rescue, and improvised medical care.

Hands-On Ocean Survival Skills

Learn and practice skills that will be invaluable if you are caught in an open water survival situation. Participants will be donning life jackets and survival equipment and going into the ocean to practice survival skills. Life jackets and survival equipment included.

From stoves, to friction, to using the sun! Get hands-on experience generating heat for every emergency and environment. Practice building fires from the ground up using a wide variety of materials with survival expert Brian Horner.

Basic Wound Management/Suture Lab

A practical workshop on suturing and improvised laceration repair in a backcountry environment. Participants will have the opportunity to practice basic suturing, stapling, taping, and tissue gluing techniques on pig limbs. All supplies provided. 2 additional AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.
