An evening tour through the medicine of history's great expeditions, from Magellan and Cook to Lewis and Clark, Stanley and Livingstone, and the Antarctic race between Amundsen, Shackleton, and Scott. Dr. Tim Erickson covers the diseases, poisons, and improvised remedies these explorers faced far from any hospital. Some survived. Some did not.
