While some people know Snowbird for its champagne powder and astonishing snow totals, summers at "The Bird" can’t be topped as the resort transforms into a premier summer destination. Snowbird Resort offers over 20 summer activities, including spectacular hiking trails lush with wildflowers, mountain biking, scenic tram rides, chairlift rides, Ropes Course, Alpine Slide, Mountain Coaster, guided hiking, and much more. Snowbird also offers rides atop the scenic Tram on its rooftop balconies—the first of their kind in the United States.

Hiking in Wild Flowers

Snowbird’s extensive network of trails provides countless opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors. Whether you are exploring right outside the Snowbird Center, enjoying the wildflowers in Mineral Basin or walking down after an Aerial Tram ride to Hidden Peak, you’ll find that hiking in the Wasatch Mountains is a bucket list experience.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

The lower mountain offers a variety of playful, cross-country riding, while the upper mountain showcases the legendary Big Mountain Trail, which, after a 3,00-foot climb, winds 6.3-miles down from the top of Hidden Peak.

Summer Scenic Tram Rides

Ride Snowbird’s Aerial Tram to 11,000 feet atop Hidden Peak to enjoy stunning views from the tram's rooftop balconies, allowing passengers to soak in fresh mountain air and 360-degree views. Once you reach the top, make sure to check out The Summit, Utah’s highest restaurant, for lunch or a snack or take a hike on numerous trails around the resort. Hiking from the top of the Tram can include a casual stroll around Hidden Peak, a walk into Mineral Basin and through the Peruvian Tunnel or an exposed scramble to the top of The Twins.

Enjoy vibrant scenery, wildflower viewing and wildlife sightings while also accessing Mineral Basin by riding the Peruvian Express chairlift and walking through Peruvian Tunnel. Not only is it the only subterranean ski tunnel in North America, but it also serves as a historic site where guests can view artifacts from Snowbird’s mining-era past.

Mountain Coaster at Snowbird

MOUNTAIN COASTER

The Mountain Coaster is 3,120 feet of adrenaline-inducing twists and turns. Riders (up to 2 people per cart) board the Mountain Coaster near the base of the Peruvian Chairlift and are pulled to the top of the track. Then, gravity takes over!

ZipWhipper®

The ZipWhipper® combines the fun of a rock climbing wall with the thrill of a breathtaking free-fall. Climbers have 20 seconds to try and beat the clock and make it to the top. The ZipWhipper® will then carry them the rest of the way up before swinging them out for a heart-pounding, backward-swinging drop.

Kids Fishing Pond

Children (age 12 & under) are encouraged to try their luck fishing at Austin Pond, which is stocked with trout during the summer. Austin Pond is a catch-and-release pond and hooks should be barbless.

What kid doesn’t love to climb trees? Snowbird has modernized the idea by attaching climbing holds to several of our trees along with an auto-belay system, allowing kids to practice their climbing skills. These devices do not harm our living trees.

Provides big adventure for little explorers. Only 2 feet off the ground at its highest point, this parent-guided ropes course has all the challenges of the larger ropes course without the added height or harness factors. The sandbox surface beneath makes for a cushioned landing and an adjacent sandbox provides even more options for play time.

Childcare at Snowbird

Snowbird offers a year-round childcare service

Located in The Cliff Lodge at Snowbird, Superior Childcare is a licensed childcare facility catering to children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. Drop your child off with the experienced staff for a full day or partial day. Children can enjoy a day of fun with indoor and outdoor play, receive nutritious meals and snacks made on-site, and have a quiet nap or rest time to reset their busy bodies. Childcare services are available from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Multi-day packages available
