SURVIVAL FOR KIDS

An interactive and educational workshop designed exclusively for children to provide a positive, fun, and rewarding experience. Children learn how to avoid getting lost, spend a survival night out, and stay warm. This workshop includes practice signaling and building improvised shelters.

Please bring water, a snack, and sun protection. Light rain gear is suggested. Closed-toe shoes are required.

This course is designed to teach older children about trip preparation, creating a useful survival kit, how to navigate safely, avoid getting lost in the backcountry, build improvised shelters and fires, find food, and survive an unexpected night out.

Please bring water, a healthy snack, and sun protection. Light rain gear is suggested. Closed-toe shoes are required.

WILDERNESS FIRST AID FOR KIDS

Sunday, July 28
8:30 AM - 11:30 AM, $80

Children can make a difference or even save a life if they know first aid. This course will teach children to recognize and manage common medical problems and emergencies. They learn CPR and how to use an AED. Tuition includes a first aid kit designed for children and course certificate.

SURVIVING INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL & STUDY ABROAD

Sunday, July 28
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM, $70

Many students travel abroad during high school and college for classes and semesters in foreign countries, and many leave the U.S. without adequate preparation. This interactive course will teach important lessons on preparing for foreign travel, situational awareness, safety, lost passports and other important documents, communication, and how to cope with a crisis or emergency when away from home.

Map compass navigation wilderness survival CME course

ORIENTEERING FOR KIDS

Monday, July 29
8:30 AM – 12:00 PM, $80

Teaches basic map and compass skills in an outdoor setting. We make maps, introduce the compass and then put it all together with a fun scavenger hunt and mini-orienteering event. Students keep provided map and compass..

This exciting hands-on course is designed to teach young adults how to take care of themselves and others in an emergency. Tuition includes a first aid kit and certification card.

WIlderness Navigation for Teens (1)

WILDERNESS NAVIGATION FOR TEENS

Tuesday, July 30
8:30 AM - 11:30 AM, $70

Learn how to route find in the wilderness, read and use a topographic map and discover new uses for smartphones to help you travel safely in the backcountry. We also introduce the compass and use it to travel on and off trail. Each student will receive and keep a compass.
